Undergraduate Research Day Poster Forum on October 19th--
The URO is currently accepting applications to present a poster highlighting your summer research (progress report or final results) at the Fall Undergraduate Research Day. Apply to uro@osu.edu by August 22nd. Your application should include a brief letter explaining why your participation in the poster forum would be beneficial, as well as name, major(s), advisor’s name, project title, and an abstract describing your goals, methods, findings and significance of your project in 200 words or less. Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your research and gain valuable experience communicating your results.
Weekly Wednesday Lunches--stop by Page Hall on Wednesdays at noon to meet other student researchers and share experiences. If the weather is nice, expect to meet out on the oval across from our building along the Long Walk (the brick walkway in the middle). If the weather is bad, then come into 60 Page Hall.

- Teaching Your Peers: Poster Presentation Basics, July 29, 4 - 6 p.m.

- All types of academic presentations are opportunities to teach your peers about your work. Poster presentations have two challenges in particular. The first is that you have a finite space in which to tell a story. The second is that your audience is moving around the room.
- In this workshop, we will discuss the essential parts of a poster and how to arrange them to tell a concise story, with an opportunity for participants to practice. In addition, we will consider how to talk about your work to people who may spend as little as thirty seconds or as much as several minutes at your poster.
