Physics major Jake Connors traveled to the Undergraduate Research Conference of the Sigma Xi Annual Meeting in Houston, Texas, November 12-15, and received a Superior award for his presentation.

     
Geological Sciences major Justin M. Von Bargen won the prize for best student poster in the Sigma Gamma Epsilon Earth Sciences Honorary Society's poster session at the recently completed annual meeting of the Geological Society of America in Portland, Oregon.   Justin Von Bargen
     
Dena Rapoport Headshot   Hebrew and history of art major Dena Rapoport won first prize in the Spring '09 Melton Center for Jewish Studies' Roth Essay Contest. Her paper on the work of a major Israeli literary figure was titled "Chaim Nahman Bialik: Poetry and Tension."
