Career Connection
Career Connection at Ohio State offers numerous services and resources reagrding career planning. These include exploring graduate and professional schools and creating resumes and personal statements.
Courses
The URO compiled this list of research-oriented undergraduate courses
at Ohio State. Please note that there may be other courses not listed of which
we are unaware.
The Digital Union
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to use the services of the
Digital Union free of charge for academic projects. Services include
consultation, equipment use, video conferencing, technology-supported
meeting space, training and workshops, and testing of technology for
academic use.
Forums at OSU
OSU sponsors
several graduate student research forums throughout the year. These
forums offer a great opportunity to explore current research on campus,
may stimulate ideas for a research project of your own, or introduce
you to a possible mentor.
Freshman Seminars
Distinguished faculty will introduce students to topical and
cutting-edge research areas from a wide variety of disciplines. The
seminars are open only to first-year students and have a maximum class
size of 18.
Honors and Scholars
Participation in undergraduate research is suggested for students in Honors and Scholars.
Libraries
The Libraries offers guides, self-paced instructional resources and
credit courses to help students become more proficient at using the Web
and library databases for their research activities.
Office of International Affairs
The office provides support for international travel and research
activities as well as study abroad ventures for students.
Office of Research
The office manages research grant funding and provides a wide variety
of support services for researchers, including educational resources on
use of human subjects and laboratory animals.
The
Office of Responsible Research Practices
The ORRP
offers office hours (see link for schedule and location) to
help undergraduate student researchers preparing Behavioral and Social
Sciences Institutional Review Board submissions and exemption requests
for research involving human subjects. These sessions are intended to help students and their advisors
navigate IRB forms, policies, and review procedures. Please contact Cheri Pettey at 292-2454 or pettey.6@osu.edu with questions.
OSU Knowledge Bank
This is a repository of digital resources submitted by Ohio State
faculty and students, including reports, presentations, data, theses
and other research projects not normally included in the library
catalog.
The OSU Statistical Consulting Service
A special course for undergraduates needing statistical advice for their research.
Poster Presentation Resources
A list of links for poster and abstract preparation and printing compiled by the Denman forum.
WebGURU
The Web Guide to Research for Undergraduates (WebGURU) is an
interactive web-based tool intended to assist undergraduates navigate
the hurdles of an undergraduate research experience.
The Writing Center
The Writing Center offers free help with writing at any stage of the
writing process, from research proposals and grant applications to
reports and abstracts.
